Elden Ring DLC Patch Makes The Game Just A Little Less Punishing

As the community grapples with 's intense difficulty, FromSoftware is throwing everyone a bone with the game's latest patch. One of the more controversial aspects of the expansion is the introduction of the Shadow Realm Blessing mechanic which functions as another measure of one's strength. When properly leveled, it grants The Tarnished more attack power and better defensive capabilities but the introduction of the system has left many players sour given that the early rewards don't justify the effort spent on engaging with the mechanic.

Per a post on the Bandai Namco website, FromSoftware confirmed that it has revised the Shadow Realm Blessing feature by making it more impactful during the early stages of For the first half of the total Blessing enhancements meter, attack and damage negation have been increased while anything gained after that point is more gradual. Additionally, the final level of Blessing enhancement now also yields a slightly bigger boost to attack and defense, meaning those who actively use the system will be able to make even the most brutal boss fights slightly easier.

While the biggest aspect of the latest patch is undoubtedly the revision of the Shadow Realm Blessing mechanic, players on PC can also enjoy a slight performance tweak. The only other major change included in Update 1.12.2 is a fix that will prevent ray-tracing from automatically activating if any saved data from a previous version is detected. It's an incredibly small adjustment that likely won't have a major impact on the game's woeful PC performance but there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
