Dragon’s Dogma 2 Has an Uncapped Framerate Aiming for “Around” 30fps on Consoles

What exactly can Xbox Series X/S and PS5 owners expect from Dragon’s Dogma 2 in terms of performance? It’s been an open question, with answers being surprisingly hard to come by – at first, we heard it might be targeting 30fps, but analysis of footage seemed to indicate that wasn’t necessarily the case. Capcom stepped in to say the game would have an “uncapped” framerate, which… didn’t exactly clear things up.

Well, with the release of Dragon’s Dogma 2 just weeks away, it seems we finally have a definitive answer. Some new previews of Dragon’s Dogma 2 have gone live, and as indicated by IGN’s video, framerate does indeed hover around 30fps on PS5 but can drop to the 25fps range.

So yeah, if you’re looking for performance, PC may be the place to play Dragon’s Dogma 2, although it should also be mentioned that all of Capcom’s PC hardware recommendations also target 30fps so you may need to a pretty beefy rig if you want to play the game at high framerates. It seems like Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be one that benefits from upsampling tech –
