DLSS 3 & Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen GI Added to Everspace 2

NVIDIA DLSS 3 has been added to the open world spaceship shooter game Everspace 2 with the major free Incursions update that dropped yesterday, adding new events, legendary gear and catalysts, new treasure boxes called reliquaries, and improved controller support. Developer ROCKFISH has also upgraded the game from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5.3, offering Lumen Global Illumination as an option for high-end PC users looking to improve the visuals.

With DLSS 3 and all graphics settings maxed out, owners of RTX 40 Series GPUs can look forward to a 2x performance boost, according to NVIDIA. The RTX 4090 gets nearly 200 average frames per second at 4K with Super Resolution set to Performance Mode; the RTX 4080 SUPER runs at 164.4 FPS; the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER reaches 146 FPS; the RTX 4070 SUPER surpasses 130 FPS; and the RTX 4070 has been measured at 111.6 FPS. At 1440p (with Super Resolution set to Quality), even the RTX 4060 Ti runs at 132.3 FPS, and the RTX 4060 was measured at 106.6 FPS. Everspace 2 is currently 50% off until May 6, by the way.

Today is also the launch day of Gray Zone Warfare on Steam Early Access, which is already topping the sales chart. As previously announced, the UE5 powered open world tactical first-person shooter also offers DLSS 3 support in addition to ray traced Lumen GI. According to NVIDIA, DLSS allows an average 2.7x performance boost for RTX 40 Series graphics cards. At the Epic graphics preset and 4K resolution (with Super Resolution set to Performance Mode), the RTX 4090 averages 141.5 frames per second, while the RTX 4080 SUPER registers 117.6 FPS, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is measured at 106.6 FPS, the RTX 4070 SUPER runs at 93.6 FPS, and the RTX 4070 just about breaks 81 FPS. At 1440p, owners of the RTX 4060 Ti can look forward to nearly 90 average FPS, while RTX 4060 users can run Gray Zone Warfare at an average of 73 FPS, provided that they
