Disney reportedly victim to a 1TB data breach

A hacker group has claimed to have leaked more than 1TB of internal data related to Disney projects.

As reported by Hackread, hacker group NullBulge claims to have breached Disney’s internal Slack platform, allegedly leaking messages, files, code, and more.

The alleged breach is said to contain a complete copy of the company’s Slack communications used by their development team including messages, files, and other data.

The hackers claim the dump includes “almost 10,000 channels, every message and file possible, unreleased projects, raw images, code, logins, links to internal API/web pages, and more!”

It’s thought that this weekend’s leak of Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 is a result of the data breach. The first game was developed in collaboration with Disney’s 20th Century Games.

NullBulge used X to announce the alleged hack, stating, “Disney has had their entire dev Slack dumped. 1.1 TiB of files and chat messages. Anything we could get our hands on, we downloaded and packaged up. Want to see what goes on behind the doors? Go grab it.”

NullBulge claims that its aim is to “protect artists’ rights and ensure fair compensation for their work”. In recent years, Disney has faced criticism around the payment of some royalties to artists and writers.
