Dino Crisis Unreal Engine 5 Fan-made Remake Demo Is Now Available for Download

A Dino Crisis remake powered by Unreal Engine 5 is in development by a fan, and a playable demo is now available for download, allowing fans to try out this remake themselves.

The Project Crisis remake is currently being developed by a single developer, Stefano Cagnani, so we shouldn't expect the same level of quality as other fan-made projects with multiple people working on them. Still, the demo is still an interesting way to see how the classic survival horror game would look and play using more modern technology. The demo can be downloaded here.

Despite being a beloved classic, CAPCOM hasn't shown much interest in remaking the first entry in the Dino Crisis to date. Back in August, producer and director of the original game, Shinji Mikami, talked about the franchise, saying that the success of the Monster Hunter series reduced the need for a new entry in the series, a weird statement considering the two franchises have nothing in common. Still, as CAPCOM did bring back one of its beloved series that hadn't seen a new entry in the while, Dead Rising, there's still hope for a remake of the original Dino Crisis in a similar fashion.

While waiting for CAPCOM to bring back the series, PlayStation 5 owners will soon be able to enjoy the original Dino Crisis on their system, as the game will be added to the PlayStation Plus Classics lineup this month, together with another beloved classic, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain.
