Die by the Blade Launches on PC This May; Console Versions Scheduled For October

One-hit-kill fighting game Die by the Blade has been in development for a very long time, becoming a staple of our most anticipated fighting games lists, but it seems like the long wait is finally over, as the game will finally release this year on PC and consoles.

Today, Slovakian indie development and publishing company Grindstone announced the return of the rights for its games back to the original development from the publishing partner, confirming the game will launch on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on May 16th. Console versions will require additional development time and will only launch this October.

The press release announcing the Die by the Blade's release date also clarified why Grindstone got back the rights to its game. The initial collaboration with the publishing partner was embarked upon with high hopes, but it became clear as time passed how the publisher's vision for the game clashed with that of the developer, severely impacting its potential. As such, Grindstone took the step to reacquire the project and allow the development team to fully realize their own vision.

Die by the Blade launches on PC on May 16th. The console versions will release sometime this October.
