Dark Souls 2 DLAA/FSR Mod Now Available for Download

While the Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin Lighting Engine mod has been developing since 2023, it now has NVIDIA DLAA and AMD FSR Super Resolution support. Over time, it has added improvements by adding volumetric fog, ground truth ambient occlusion, and many more graphical updates to make Dark Souls 2 a more visually enjoyable experience.

Utilizing NVIDIA DLAA or AMD FSR Super Resolution significantly reduces the number of visual artifacts (specifically, aliasing) that a player might see when exploring the Kingdom of Drangleic, making it look prettier. The author admits DLAA is the superior solution for those who can enable it (owners of RTX 20/30/40 Series GPUs).

The mod created by Ganaboy now has many toggle-able features to create the visual dynamic you want from the game. Whether you want the screen to be brighter or dimmer or you want to turn on HDR Monitor support, the Dark Souls 2 Lighting Engine Mod has plenty on offer.

This mod is still listed as being in the Alpha stages of creation, meaning there is plenty more on the horizon regarding technical changes to ensure the best possible environments in Dark Souls 2. However, it has already added many new fixtures to the lighting systems and better shadow casting from environmental objects.

This update's main focus was adding DLSS and AMD FSR Super Resolution support, which is a game-changer for many players who utilize it. However, it's also added preset selections, a huge reduction in dithering and fixing God Rays throughout the game.
