D&D's 2024 Player's Handbook Has A Baldur's Gate 3 Easter Egg That's Easy To Miss

There's a lot to discover in the new 2024, and one hidden detail is the perfect reward for attentive fans of As a translation of 5e rules to the video game space, has helped to ignite a lot of extra interest in the tabletop roleplaying experience. Considering the appearance of Astarion actor Neil Newbon as the voice of Vecna in a trailer and his involvement in some high-profile live play sessions, Astarion might be leading the pack as a candidate for the game's mascot in DnD.

As noted by Reddit user Jose_Jota, Astarion appears to make a cameo appearance in the 2024 artwork for the spell, which depicts an elf Cleric casting the spellin the midst of a vampire court. In the bottom right corner of the image, a character with Astarion's signature locks of silver-white hair lunges forward with a sword in hand.

Luckily for fans of the character, Astarion has been kindly spared from the effects that are ravaging all the other vampires. At least for the moment, the flames licking across flesh and cloth throughout the image don't seem to have affected him.

The top comment from Reddit user adamg0013 makes a note that a couple other characters in the image resemble vampiric versions of Lae'zel and Wyll, although it's hard to be certain about cameos beside Astarion. There are definitely a couple of figures that could be the githyanki Fighter and human Warlock, but there aren't any
