Call of Duty Fans Aren't Happy About the Super Expensive King Kong Glove

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's collaboration with Godzilla x Kong includes the B.E.A.S.T. Glove melee weapon that costs more than the game itself to unlock, and fans are not impressed. While most users have come to accept Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's in-game store as a regular feature, its expensive bundles often stir up frustration.

In March,Call of Duty announced its newest wave of collaborations, which included popular franchises like Dune, Warhammer 40K, and Godzilla x Kong. Call of Duty later announced its Godzilla x Kong: Battle for Hollow Earth event that runs from April 5 to April 10 and lets users unlock exclusive items inspired by the franchise. While that event and other Godzilla x Kong store items were mostly well received by CoD fans, the collaboration's most pricey item was met with much less enthusiasm.

Users can unlock the B.E.A.S.T. Glove by purchasing four separate bundles that each cost 2,400 CoD Points (about $20). After doing so, the B.E.A.S.T. is added to the user's inventory as a bonus and allows the player to equip the large glove used by Kong in the franchise's newest movie. The B.E.A.S.T. can not equip camos and does not include the previously mentioned features, although it does have a satisfying sound effect and unique inspect animation thanks to its Mastercraft Blueprint status. Twitter user DetonatedCom shared a clip of the B.E.A.S.T. in action.

Unfortunately, extremely expensive Call of Duty items aren't much of a surprise seeing how much Activision focuses on microtransactions and the massive amount of money they generate. In 2021, the publisher raked in $5.1 billion from the practice, a number that doesn't even count regular game sales. On the bright side, items like the B.E.A.S.T. are at least purely cosmetic and don't offer any real
