Black Myth: Wukong Shows Its Stunning Game World in Final Gameplay Trailer

This morning, Chinese developer Game Science shared the final gameplay trailer for the upcoming action RPG Black Myth: Wukong. The video shows the game's stunning world that players will get to experience in just twelve days from today.

Black Myth: Wukong was first unveiled to the world nearly four years ago, in August 2020. Right away, it looked like a game worth following closely. In early 2021, the studio set a tentative 2023 launch window, but it proved too ambitious. Game Science had to delay it to 2024, but it also brought a playable demo at Gamescom 2023, giving everyone a taste of their project.

Eventually, the developers have decided on an August 20 launch date for PC and PlayStation 5. Originally, the game was slated to launch at the same time on Xbox Series S and X, but this version has since been delayed due to ongoing optimization.

Black Myth: Wukong is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and will support the full scope of NVIDIA RTX technologies on PC, including ray tracing and DLSS 3.5. NVIDIA said:

In Black Myth: Wukong, full ray tracing increases the fidelity and quality of lighting, reflections, and shadows. Reflections on water reflect all surrounding details. Water caustics add further realism by accurately rendering the refraction and reflection of light. Fully ray-traced Global Illumination ensures that indoor and outdoor lighting is pixel-perfect, darkening areas where light is blocked or can't reach and realistically illuminating the world through light bouncing. In concert with the lighting system, contact hardening and softening fully ray-traced shadows are cast everywhere, rendering the tiniest shadows on leaves and pebbles, as well as those on geometry-rich buildings, the main character, and the giant bosses players must defeat.
