Astro Bot credits point to potential DLC cameo bots

The end credits of Astro Bot may point to some characters that will be included as cameos in the game’s DLC.

The game’s credits, which thank all of the third-party developers and publishers that allowed their characters to feature in the game, also feature references to several characters and IP that aren’t currently featured.

The credits reference Ubisoft three times, thanking them for the inclusion of Assassin’s Creed, Beyond Good & Evil, and Rayman.

Croc and Worms are also mentioned, as is Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin. No characters from any of these franchises appear as cameo bots in the base game, not are they in the four bonus cameo bots that players can import from Astro’s Playroom.

While it’s possible that Team Asobi received clearance to use these characters, and then decided against it, it’s more likely that these characters will be included in the upcoming speedrun and challenge-level DLC.

In the base game, every challenge level rewards the player with one cameo bot, meaning that if the DLC is to follow the same structure, it will also provide players with extra bots for the in-game crash site.

What’s perhaps more surprising is that if this is the complete list of franchises that will be covered by DLC, then Sweet Tooth from the Twisted Metal franchise, who has been spotted in concept art, isn’t currently planned to appear.

VGC’s review of Astro Bot called it “The best 3D platformer of the decade.”
