ARK: Survival Ascended Adds Free Aberration Ascended Expansion and New Map

A new expansion has been released for free forARK: Survival Ascended, along with a new expansion for Bob’s Tall Tales, a separate piece of DLC set in the world of ARK.

Per an official press release, ARK: Aberration Ascended is the newest expansion pack for ARK: Survival Ascended, the remaster of 2017’s ARK: Survival Evolved that was released in early access late last year across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. 

The expansion readds the Aberration map to the game, changing it and optimizing it to fit the new version of the game. There are fifteen new creatures in the game, with various new tools and ways to fight them, while also allowing players to craft over fifty different unique items and thirty new engrams, meaning that players will have to figure out the best way to adapt to survive.

There’s more than just this expansion, however. Bob’s Tall Tales, essentially a way forARK: Survival Ascended to deliver more story-based content to its users, is receiving a new chapter narrated by Lord of the Rings and Star Trek actor Karl Urban, introducing new mechanics such as the ability to use airships and a new robot companion voiced by Alan Tudyk named SIR-5RM8. Both updates released on September 5th, 2024 and are available for free to everyone.
