Ark: Survival Ascended Aberration: Where Should You Spawn In First?

's DLC is already a tough experience for anyone, so finding the easiest or best initial spawn location is important. takes survivors to a harsh, irradiated Ark filled with mutated dinosaurs and horrifying new hybrids. Though there is counterplay with Charged Light mechanics and radiation protection, this map arguably boasts the highest challenge in the franchise.

A large part of this challenge comes from the numerous new additions. The biggest name here is the Reapers, a Xenomorph-inspired creature with some of the series' highest stats. These creatures can appear almost anywhere on the map from the ground and can only be tamed by one of the weirdest mechanics in . Other creatures to be wary of in include the Rock Drake, Basilisk, and the new Yi Ling.

The spawn points of, like the other maps, can be misleading. Though the game will say Portal is the easiest, it is not according to many players. This location is frequented by Raptors and Basilisks, which will not be easy to kill with bare hands or even spears if they can be crafted fast enough. These Raptors even have a chance to be Aberrant versions, which are irradiated versions that have less health, but do more damage. This spawn point can still be used, but it may not always be as easy as the game claims it to be.

If wishing to avoid the Portal spawn point, the best option would be the Fertile Lake region. Some of the best dinosaurs in cannot spawn there, and it is the calmest part of the map with little to no radiation. Dangerous Aberrant dinosaurs will still spawn, but this spot has less risk than other starting locations on other maps. It also has plenty of easy-to-acquire resources to start a base along with mushrooms for less dangerous food sources.

Aberration is a DLC that can feel on the small side but comes with some big changes from the base game that is important to know going in.
