Apple Reveals New iPad Models

At its Let Loose event on May 7, Apple revealed the upcoming M4 iPad Pro and iPad Air Gen 6 models, each launching on Wednesday, May 15. Apple also showed off some features of the new Apple Pencil Pro, including haptic feedback and improved response, and a new Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro, which will come in different sizes and colors.

In the weeks leading up to the May 7 Let Loose Event, rumors claimed that the event would focus on new iPads and iPad accessories. The rumors would be proven true, as Apple confirmed that the new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models would include the new M4 processor, which would skip the M3 generation altogether. According to Apple, the Apple M4 system on a chip (SoC) has 10 CPU and 10 GPU cores each and was built upon the M3 processor architecture. The tech giant used Diablo Immortal as an example of the games the processor can run. By comparison, Apple stated that the sixth-generation iPad Air models will run on the M2 processors used on devices such as the 2023 Mac Mini desktop and 2022 MacBook Air laptops.

With the Let Loose Apple Event behind them, users will not have much longer to wait to get their hands on the latest iPad generation. The iPad Pro and iPad Air will launch on Wednesday, May 15. The iPad Air will come in 11-inch and 13-inch configurations, with Space Gray, Starlight, Purple, and Blue color options. By comparison, the iPad Pro will only be available in Space Gray and Silver. Both will come with free options to include an engraving on the tablet. The iPad Air starts at $599, and the iPad Pro at $999. All new iPad models will come with monthly installment options via Apple Card.

The Apple Pencil Pro will start at $129, and the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro will start at $299. The new keyboard will be available in 11 and 13-inch variants. Thanks to the M2 and M4 processors, new iPad Air and iPad Pro models will be capable of running games available on the iPhone 15 Pro, including the mobile version of Assassin's
