Animal Crossing Fan Encounters Incredibly Rare Event Most Other Players Will Never See

There's a lot to experience in the series, but when it comes to unique events, anyone who plays regularly enough is likely to end up encountering most of them. From seasonal holidays to the various NPCs who drift through the village on occasion, events tend to occur with generally reasonable frequency. Some unique happenings can be much, much rarer, however, and it's possible to spend years with the series and never see certain sights.

Reddit user mike14468 had the fortune to be graced with one of the rarest occurrences thanks to the appearance of a double rainbow. This unique meteorological phenomenon is already fairly uncommon in real life, and when it comes to, it might happen even less often.

Rainbows are fairly rare to begin with in, typically appearing in the afternoon after heavy rain. The double rainbow adds a second, fainter rainbow above a fairly vivid smaller one, taking up a good portion of the visible sky on screen.

Due to the random nature of the double rainbow, it's entirely possible to stumble upon one soon after starting to play, but it's more common to go a long time without ever encountering one. Rainbows were added as part of a general overhaul to weather in , which fleshed out the possibilities for the sky's appearance to include a significant number of subtler additions.
