AMD Ryzen 9000X3D Desktop CPUs To Be Unveiled At CES 2025, The Next-Generation of 3D V-Cache For Gamers

AMD's Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs featuring the 3D V-Cache technology are going to be the next major launch from the red team on the AM5 Desktop platform. The launch was initially headed for late 2024 with October being described as the unveiling of the new chips but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Officially, AMD never disclosed the launch timeframe for their Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs but the release window was shared with all major motherboard vendors. However, AMD has now shared a second update with motherboard partners, and this time, the release has been pushed back to CES 2025. The AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs may have disappointed many gamers who didn't get the performance that the company officially showcased in its benchmarks. AMD had to revise the whole testing procedure and ended up finding that their Ryzen 9000 CPUs deliver performance on par with Intel's 14th Gen offerings. This would mean that gamer who are looking for faster gaming performance than the competition will have to wait till the Ryzen 9000X3D launch.

ASUS also recently teased the Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs in its recent X870E/X870 motherboard unveil but later removed it. This doesn't mean that we aren't going to see any 3D V-cache action this year, in fact, AMD is working on two brand new CPUs for their AM4 and AM5 platforms. The AMD Ryzen 5 5500X3D is expected to launch on the AM4 platform soon while the Ryzen 5 7600X3D is going to launch
