AMD Fluid Motion Frames Now Officially Available: Frame-Gen For Everyone & Every DX12/DX11 Game With Up To 97% FPS Boost

AMD's Fluid Motion Frames technology is now available in the official driver release & offers a big boost in a huge selection of games using frame-gen.

AMD Fluid Motion Frames Technology Is Finally Out of Technical Preview, Now Packed In Official Drivers To Boost Thousands of Games Using Frame Generation

First launched in September, the AMD Fluid Motion Frames technology leverages frame generation to boost the FPS in games through a single click. Unlike FSR 3 which requires work with game devs, the AFMF technology can easily integrate frame generation technology by injecting it through the driver side. While FSR 3 still comes out better in terms of quality, Fluid Motion Frames allows you to enjoy boosted FPS in a wide selection of games that are based on the DX12 and DX11 APIs.

Since launch, the technology was in a technical preview state, available outside the main driver brand but that changes today as AMD has now released its first official driver with Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) support. The latest driver is titled "Adrenalin Edition 24.1.1" and comes packed with the FPS-boosting technology.

While the driver supports all three RDNA generations of GPUs (7000, 6000, 5000 series), the AFMF technology only supports the Radeon RX 7000 (RDNA 3), Radeon 700M (RDNA 3) and Radeon RX 6000 (RDNA 2) GPUs. The addition of the Radeon 700M iGPUs makes perfect sense considering the broad portfolio of handhelds that are based on AMD's latest Ryzen 7040/8040 APUs and these can definitely benefit from Fluid Motion Frames tech, further boosting their integrated GPU capabilities.

Besides that, the driver also brings Video Upscaling using Fluid Motion frames and a lot of fixes. The video upscaling technology is supported in VLC and YouTube and competes with NVIDIA's Video Super Resolution which has also received extensive upgrades over the past few months. The
