AMD Branch Prediction Optimization For Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” & Ryzen 7000 “Zen 4” CPUs Now Available In Windows 11 23H2

AMD's branch prediction optimizations which helped improve gaming performance for Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" & Ryzen 7000 CPUs are now available in Windows 11 23H2.

You Don't Have To Update To Windows 11 24H2, Windows Update Adds Branch Prediction Optimizations To Windows 11 23H2 For Improved Game Performance On Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" CPUs

A few days ago, AMD announced that it was working on a new branch prediction optimization patch which would be rolled out in Windows 11 24H2. Early performance testing has revealed that this new update does provide improved gaming performance versus what was showcased in early reviews and even within AMD's own performance testing. Now, AMD has confirmed that it's bringing the same branch prediction optimizations to Windows 11 23H2 via backporting. The new update will be listed under the Windows Update menu in the "Optional Updates" section as "KB5041587" which makes things a lot easier for those who haven't updated or opted into the 24H2 preview.

In some titles, the performance isn't that much notable and within the margin of error. It's still better than what users got during launch and should make the new AM5 Desktop CPUs slightly better gaming value than they were before.

Since both AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" and Ryzen 7000 "Zen 4" Desktop CPUs are receiving the uplift in performance, their differences remain the same as pointed out in earlier benchmarks. The new "Admin" privileges for Windows 11 have also been seen to deliver a certain level of boost in games but it applies to all chips including those
