While Arrowhead Studios' third-person shooter is riddled with starships and cruisers, even giving players their own Super Destroyer to travel the pathways between planets, it's not actually possible to use these vessels to battle enemies. It may be too much to expect from the developers, given the scale of such an addition, but some kind of space battle mechanic would be amazing, especially if it takes its cues from this fan's video.

Posted to Reddit by creator MartechiFalkberg, the video illustrates what ship-based combat could look like, highlighting every aspect from the slow launch sequence to actually shooting down enemies.

The level of detail included in the clip is staggering;everything from the Stratagems like the Kestrel Wingman and Decoy Flares down to the wrench icon for repairs feels authentic and accurate to the tone of. Even the design of the ship itself, right down to the folding wings and heads-up display, fit within the aesthetic of the game.
