A Clever Helldivers 2 Trick Takes Out The Game's Toughest Enemies

The toughest enemies in often take the game's best weapons to defeat, but one clever trick can accomplish the same job for less investment. One of the best things about s gameplay is the numerous ways to handle missions. Stealth can shorten missions while limiting the number of enemies fought, or Helldivers can opt to go in loud and destroy all enemies of Super Earth. In the latter course, many different weapons and strategies can accomplish this.

Stratagem choice in is one of the key factors in deciding how to attack the multitude of enemies that will try to disrupt missions. Eagle and Orbital airstrikes are often hard-hitting but with long cooldown attacks that can either deal with many weak enemies or a few strong ones. Sentries and backpack weapons are helpful for survivability or trying to lock down certain defensive positions, like the recently added extract civilian missions. The last option is heavy support weapons like the Spear Rocket Launcher or Railgun that can help battle enemies of any armor type.

Thanks to a Reddit video from user Kalypso1995, Helldivers now have a new way to take down giant creatures like the Bile Titan. This trick involves the Shield Generator Backpack, which will deploy a round overshield onto the player. Once it is deployed, call in a support weapon by throwing it straight up into the air while angling oneself to have it land on the edge of the shield. This will cause the pod to land at the shield's location, making it crucial to quickly drop the backpack under or near the target.

To drop one's backpack, hold X on PC or down on a controller DPad to bring up the inventory, then select the backpack.

This trick will usually succeed in one or two tries and is more consistent than a boss leaving the area of a called-in airstrike. A tip to accompany this trick is to use the Expandable Anti Tank weapon as it has the shortest cooldown between call-ins.
