Rip the display off a laptop, snap its keyboard in the middle, and you've got this portable PC you can stick in a pocket

Modern laptops are remarkably capable PCs but even the smallest and lightest of them aren't especially portable. It's not like you can stick one in a pocket, for example. One start-up in China, though, reckons it has the perfect solution by eschewing the display altogether and fitting a hinge in the keyboard, so the whole PC really can be stuffed down the back of your pants.

Baldur's Gate 3's Meanest Characters Aren't Who You'd Expect

No party is truly complete without a healthy dose of bickering, but when it comes to the art of trading barbs, the most vicious characters aren't always the most obvious candidates. As a game that's full of moral grays, doesn't only elect do-gooders as potential party members, tossing some downright malicious characters into the mix. Although no one who can be recruited in the game is completely irredeemable, characters like Astarion and Lae'zel are capable of plenty of cutting words.

Microsoft's latest speech generator is so good they're scared to release it to the public

This thing we made is so brilliant, we can't risk releasing it to the general public. So Microsoft basically says about it's latest speech generator, VALL-E 2. So, does that reflect genuine concerns? Or is it a clever marketing ruse designed to get some viral traction and online chins wagging?

A new action-RPG inspired by Dark Messiah of Might and Magic looks almost too good to be true, and some people are worried it's The Day Before all over again

There are two kinds of gamers in the world: Those who think Dark Messiah of Might and Magic is a brilliant immersive sim that laid the foundation for the genius of Arkane's later work on Dishonored and Prey, and those who haven't played it yet. So when a game claims to draw inspiration from Dark Messiah, I—as someone who played and loved it—immediately want to know more. Alkahest is one such game, and it's attracting some real curiosity, but also a little bit of doubt.

10 Coolest Fallout Ghouls Across The History Of The Franchise, Ranked

Ghouls are one of the franchise’s most enduring and inspired creations. A more sympathetic take on the zombie trope, they brilliantly evoke the horror, humor, and human tragedy at the core of the setting. But there are certain ghouls who, through sheer suaveness or sharp attention to post-apocalyptic fashion, have managed to stand out from the pack as some of the coolest characters in the wasteland.

Ian Evenden - Gigabyte Aorus 16X review - pcgamer.com

Gigabyte Aorus 16X review

Gaming laptops aren't a new phenomenon but manufacturers keep finding new ways to make them slightly annoying. It's remarkable, really, the amount of time and energy that's poured into making things a bit worse. In the case of the Gigabyte Aorus 16X this maxim has been applied to the keyboard: specifically the QWERASD keys. In the version sent to us for review, they are see-through with a white letter on top, while the rest of the keyboard is black with a lit keycap. This means the backlight—which is the usual pulsing RGB rainbow—makes the letterforms on top much trickier to see.
