The New York Times has plenty of word games on its roster today — with Wordle, Connections, Strands, and the Mini Crossword, there’s something for everyone — but the newspaper’s standard crossword puzzle still reigns supreme. The daily crossword is full of interesting trivia, helps improve mental flexibility and, of course, gives you some bragging rights if you manage to finish it every day.
If you want to count today's puzzle to your number of victories, you can use these clues to guide you to that win. Today's puzzle is a little easier than yesterday's but it still has a fair amount of challenge. As always, some of the difficulty is dependent on your specific cultural knowledge, so even if it was easier for me, it may not be that way for you.
Cut through the confusion and win your daily Wordle in record time with our help. The answer to today's game is only an easy scroll or click away—if you need it, use it. And if you don't (or don't need it yet, anyway), why not take a look at our general tips, or use our clue for the September 5 (1174) game to help nudge your puzzling in the right direction instead?
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is ditching Inquisition's open-world structure in favor of a "mission-based" approach. That's more similar to the structure of the first two entries in the series, but our first look at gameplay earlier this year showed what amounted to a combat-filled crawl through a glorified tunnel, leaving some fans fearing The Veilguard might be far too linear. Luckily, a new extended look at gameplay is putting those fears to rest.
Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game tasks you with categorizing a pool of 16 words into four secret (for now) groups by figuring out how the words relate to each other. The puzzle resets every night at midnight and each new puzzle has a varying degree of difficulty. Just like Wordle, you can keep track of your winning streak and compare your scores with friends.
InFlux Redux is an upcoming, beautified remake of a 2013 ball-rolling puzzle game from indie dev Joe Wintergreen, who's had a hand in games like Weird West, Adios, and The Forgotten City. For Influx's improved rebirth, Wintergreen rebuilt the game's engine to implement improved physics alongside the graphical upgrades. Unfortunately, despite the substantial overhaul, he apparently caught Steam on a bad day when he submitted Influx Redux for build review.
The only constant in the Legend of Zelda series is change. From its perspective to its art style, Nintendo takes some surprising risks when it comes to one of its most valuable franchises. That often pays off. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, for instance, was a bold open-world reinvention of the classic adventure formula that put an emphasis on flexible gameplay and emergent moments born from creative thinking. That design didn’t just influence its direct sequel, the excellentThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It’s very much present in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom too.
