One of the major mechanics that sets Black Myth: Wukong apart from other soulslikes or action RPGs is its transformation system. Heavily inspired by the source material, in which Sun Wukong is a master shape-shifter, the Destined One in this game is also able to take on many forms. Unlike that story, though, you only have a few transformations to pick from, but they are incredibly powerful. Not only do they give you new moves and abilities in a fight, but they also have their own health bar. That means a tactical transformation during a boss fight can be your golden ticket to success. Still, not all of your transformations are created equal. Based on our experience, we’ve ranked all possible transformations from worst to best.
Feats are a fun part of character customization in , and the 2024 places a bigger emphasis on them than in the past. Feats give characters special features that aren't connected to those classes, whether they ultimately come from backgrounds or general progression. While the last edition of the tucked feats into a brief shared chapter with multiclassing, the 2024 iteration dedicates an entire chapter to the concept, significantly expanding the roster and tweaking some feats to be more powerful or interesting than before.

While we had a lot of love to share in our Persona 3 Reload review, we couldn't help but note one glaring omission in the remade slice of life dungeon crawler: Kotone Shiomi, the female protagonist added in Persona 3's PSP port, Persona 3 Portable.
