Hunt: Showdown is finally getting a brand-new chapter, as revealed by the game's developers, Crytek. This update is called Hunt: Showdown 1896, and players will be heading to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Luckily, players won't have long to wait, as the official release date for this chapter is August 15. This update will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Earlier this year, Warhorse Studios finally satisfied the many fans of its debut title with the announcement of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. The Czech developer had been quiet for a very long time but came out of the shadows promising a 2024 launch and a bigger, better game in every respect.

Hunt: Showdown's big new update should've been a smash-hit success, but it's being review-bombed by PC players instead.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 is officially out for players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This version of the game will replace Hunt: Showdown, with those who originally owned Hunt: Showdown being eligible for a free upgrade to Hunt: Showdown 1896. With this update comes many new features that Crytek has implemented to keep the game fresh, including their CRYENGINE 5.11, a new engine dedicated to making this game as visually stunning and immersive as possible.
Hunt: Showdown is undergoing a major change next week as it transitions into Hunt: Showdown 1896, featuring an upgraded engine, overhauled UI, big changes to the meta, and an all-new map—the first in three years. That's the good news. The bad news is that a big update means some big downtime, and Hunt: Showdown will be unavailable for two solid days beginning tomorrow.
Crytek has announced the addition of a new Wild Target coming to Hunt: Showdown 1896, which will be added to the game alongside a new event called Scorched Earth. This new Wild Target and event will both be available to players on August 15, launching on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
A few weeks back on PC Gamer, Crytek debuted Hunt: Showdown's first new map in three years, Mammon's Gulch. We all had a good time taking in the sights of Hunt's vision of Colorado, a sun-baked mountain range with oil fields and an extensive mining operation, but Crytek was holding something back: There's a new wild target on the loose in Mammon's Gulch, and it's arriving alongside a new event called Scorched Earth.
