Sony has finally announced a release date for Bloober Team's remake of Silent Hill 2, which will be out on October 8. It's not hyperbole to say that Zen saved AMD. The fully redesigned CPU architecture, first launched in 2017, swept away all the company's past mistakes and along with chiplets, Infinity Fabric, and 3D V-cache, it paved the way to profitability and market-leading performance. At Computex 2024, AMD announced its new Ryzen 9000 series of processors, all sporting the Zen 5 architecture. This is the second generation of CPUs that use the AM5 socket and one thing is clear: It's far from being the last to do so. In fact, AM5 will see new Ryzen models all the way through to 2027 and beyond, confirming AMD's commitment to socket longevity.
It's been less than two years since the Zen 4 CPU architecture was launched but progress waits for nobody; today at the Computex 2024 event AMD announced its new Zen 5 design. The new Ryzen 9000 series of desktop processors will ship in July with an average IPC uplift of 16% compared to their predecessors.
