Should You Execute Or Free Gammel In Unicorn Overlord?

Of all the choices players must make in , one of them will be whether to free or execute Gammel. This particular choice does not really have a long-lasting effect on the rest of the campaign, but it does impact the rewards you receive and certainly affects Gammel’s fate. You can consider both outcomes before you pick, looking at the pros and cons to determine what might be the best choice.

In the 's story, the former prince of Cornia, Alain, emerges from hiding to face the new leader of the Zenoiran Empire, Galerius. He was once a general of Cornia known as Valmore, but after completing the rebellion and Alain’s disappearance, he took a new name and sought to claim all of the lands of Feurith. Throughout the story, you must make choices that determine the fate of many characters, including Gammel.

After completing the " main quest, you can find the "" quest close to Ouvrir Harbor and west of Fort Soligie. Once you have crossed the bridge, you will be near the town of Coquillage, and you will encounter Gammel leading a gang of mercenaries who are overwhelming the town guard.

After that cutscene is over, you will move closer to the town, where you will meet Rolf. He urges the women to find safety and then goes off to confront the bandits. The women will ask you to assist Rolf, and when you find him again, he will be glad to have your assistance against the bandits. This mission will culminate in a series of battles against the Black Talon Bandits.

Rolf will join your Liberation Army as a Hunter, and upon completion of the quest he will also join your party. As you progress through , you will make a series of more minor fights against the bandits. Then, you will find Gammel again and Mandrin, his guard. This leads to a battle between you and Gammel, and once you have completed the quest, you will have to make the dreadful choice.
