The mainline Diablo series hasn't seen a new class for 10 years. The spiritborn, coming in Diablo 4's Vessel of Hatred expansion on October 8, are an entirely new class for the series who fight with the power of animal spirits and only slightly resemble classes from prior games, like Diablo 3's monks.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree raises the bar for «fashion souls» players who chase the RPG's ultimate endgame: finding the cleanest fit possible. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, despite being critically lauded (fellow PC Gamer writer Tyler Colp gave it a 95 in his Shadow of the Erdtree review, himself) has somehow reignited the age-old Elden Ring difficulty discourse—although more people are on the side of toning things down than they were in 2022, as Steam reviews dropped to «Mixed» last week.
Not many of us had the time to study the face of Logur the Beast Claw as he took swipes at us in the beginning of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, but if you were to get a good look at his face, you'd see that he is indeed a reference to X-Men's Wolverine: He's shirtless, fights with claw weapons, and seems to come at you in a rage. It's too specific, and FromSoft is already prone to putting popular references in NPC invaders.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is a staggering expansion, not only for its massive size—it's about as big as half of the original map—but for all the ways it challenges the assumptions I had about the nature of its world, coming from the main campaign, and the limits of an open world narrative.
One of the more interesting developments to come out of World of Warcraft's The War Within expansion debuting in August is the introduction of «story mode:» a single-player way to battle the last bosses of the game's raids, so that even solo players can experience the full narrative.
After six years, Blizzard is bringing back one of the most popular Overwatch skins to date. The coveted Pink Mercy skin will return, along with a new rose gold variant, on June 25 as part of another campaign to raise money for breast cancer research with the BCRF.
