We reported on AMD's decision to stop supporting Windows 10 for its new laptop chips last month, but now that the Ryzen AI range has been announced, the official specs page for them confirms this change. Where the Ryzen 9000-series is fully supported on Microsoft's older operating system, the Ryzen AI 300 series is for Windows 11 and Linux only.

It's only been a little over a month since Microsoft first announced a new feature for Copilot+ AI PCs, called Recall. The idea behind the AI tool was that it would make searching through your PC's use history easier but the public felt otherwise, pointing out that it had serious privacy and security concerns. Microsoft has updated the system to address some of these issues, adding the most important one of all—the option to disable it entirely.
Many PC enthusiasts don't like the fact that the best top-end GPUs use lots of power and try all kinds of ways of reducing the consumption, such as undervolting, frame rate caps, or lowering the max power limit. Graphics card vendor PowerColor is experimenting with a slightly different approach by using an NPU to manage the power usage in games, without impacting performance, in a system called Edge AI.
