PlayStation won't launch any "major" games in existing franchises this year

Don't expect new games in any of PlayStation's biggest existing franchises before the end of this financial year, Sony has said.
During its Q3 2023 earnings release, Sony updated investors on the new PS5 sales milestone. Just in December, it had announced 50 million units sold. The latest PlayStation console has now reached 54.8 million units sold since its November 2020 launch, having sold 8.2 million units in the last quarter.
Don't expect any new PS5 blockbusters any time soon, because Sony won't release any "major existing franchise titles" before April 1, 2025.
Sony says it expects PlayStation 5 hardware sales to “gradually decline” during its next fiscal year, which runs from April to March 2025, and confirmed it plans to release “no major franchise titles” during this 12-month period.
