A researcher has built a pipeline of tools to turn one of Google Maps' 3D tiles into a world of voxels in Minecraft, with the result being a surprisingly good looking and just deeply impressive process that spits out voxelized versions of the earth. Created by graduate student Ryan Hardesty Lewis at Cornell Tech in New York, the Voxel Earth technique spits out voxels that can be exported to Minecraft, a browser, or whatever it is you want to see a bit of voxelized Earth.

Diablo 4's fifth season will have an interesting-sounding new mode—an activity called Infernal Hordes that's something like a roguelite. Using an item called in Infernal Compass, players will be able to enter the Realm of Hatred and fight timed waves of enemies. Those enemies will drop burning aether, and between waves you'll be able to choose «Boons & Banes» that let you get more aether.
Yacht Club Games has announced Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope DX, an enhanced edition of the original Shovel Knight. The Shovel Knight series has been a fixture of indie gaming for a decade now, and this definitive version will be made with an aim at «preserving the game's historical functionality, ensuring these elements remain available for future generations of players» says Yacht Club.
The remaster Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will release this year, on September 25 2024. The very first Monster Hunter RPG is now available on PC via Steam in a remastered format with full voice acting. Monster Hunter Stories was first released in 2017 as a Nintendo 3DS game, and while its sequel got a release on PC in 2021 the first game hadn't made its way to a port yet. It's the story of a person who rides monsters and can befriend them.
