Scammers have resorted to selling CPUs without dies, as a well-known Korean overclocker has discovered

Scammers are among the lowest forms of life, but they can be crafty. In recent times there's been an increase in the number of scams that try to rip people off by selling expensive items without the things that make them expensive items. Fake RTX 4090s are just one example. After all, it's the chip under the hood that actually makes products like the RTX 4090 or i9 14900K. Take that out and you're left with a whole lot of nothing.

Windows 11 just isn't enticing Windows 10 users to upgrade, and its market share is actually falling

Microsoft must be wringing its hands in frustration as it tries to get users to move on from Windows 10 and embrace the wonders of Windows 11. It seems no matter what it tries, users just stubbornly refuse to move on from that old dinosaur of an OS.

Windows 10 users are soon to be hit with nagging prompts asking them to create an online account

Despite Microsoft's best efforts, Windows 10 remains popular across the world. Even though Windows 11 has been around for years and received swathes of updates, many users stubbornly hold onto the older OS. The reasons are varied. Apart from the old 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' adage, reasons not to upgrade include Windows 11's steep system requirements, a lack of truly compelling new features, or the much criticized requirement to create a Microsoft account. I find myself agreeing with Elon Musk on that last point.

DDR5-10000 memory is closer than ever after JEDEC, the managing body of the standard, extends the base DDR5 spec

The march towards DDR5-10000 continues. Although overclockers have already well and truly passed that mark, those kinds of speeds are all but out of reach without extreme cooling and you have the combination of top quality memory and a CPU with an equally good memory controller.

The ultimate bloatware removal tool now works on any version of Windows 11

For the most part, Windows 11 isn't a bad operating system, even if its adoption rate is slower than Microsoft would like. Its system demands means it requires a relatively beefy system to run, and it comes with more than its fair share of bloatware crap.

Galax's single-slot RTX 4060 Ti is out in the wild, though sadly it appears to be a little tempestuous

There are those of us out there who simply adore small form factor PCs, especially those that can cram a decent level of performance into something the size of a shoebox. These days, it's pretty hard to get around the TDP requirements of a high-end graphics card, though.
