You can now add Fortnite to the list of things someone has put Doom into

«Things running Doom that weren't meant to run Doom» is a category that's been with us for years now. Pianos, printers, the screen that shows your order in a restaurant, a motherboard BIOS, gut bacteria, Doom itself: The list goes on and on. And now that list is just a little bit bigger, as UEFN developer Jackson Clayton revealed that he's brought the classic id Software shooter to Fortnite.

Factorio's big Space Age expansion arrives in October and it's going to be even bigger than we thought

Factorio's interstellar expansion Space Age will launch on October 21, a date developer Wube says is good for two reasons: It gives developers enough time after their summer vacations to finish polishing the game, and enough time before the Christmas holidays to take care of any bug fixes.

The 'historical adventure' game that lets you ground pound an ogre is free on GOG

«The First Templar trailer ground-pounds an ogre» is a headline we wrote back in 2011 and you better believe that the moment I stumbled upon it, I immediately wanted to know more. The good news for me (and for you, if you have even the slightest sense of functioning curiosity) is that The First Templar is also now free on GOG.

The First Descendant's tutorial robot is talking so fast, players are having to screenshot its dialogue just to learn about the game

The First Descendant (TFD), Nexon's take on Warframe-slash-Destiny, has been doing pretty well in terms of raw numbers. Hitting a mightily-impressive all time peak of around 260,000 players, the game does look a little derivative of Bungie's live-service giant—to the point where both games went to the same pool of free-to-use icons, an entire wasp's nest fellow PC Gamer writer Andy Chalk appears to have stubbed his toe on yesterday.

Helldivers CEO wants to keep the 'T-pose of democracy' fall damage bug: 'We'll add inflatable bouncy bags that deploy from under your armpits or some sh*t if we have to'

The "T-pose of democracy," as we learned yesterday, is a recently discovered glitch in Helldivers 2 that enables players to survive fall damage that would normally be fatal by doing a hug emote while sailing through the air like an errant (but loving) cannonball. It's funny and clearly not supposed to be like that, but even so some players are hoping that Arrowhead will leave it alone. And it turns out they have a friend in a high place: No less than Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani.

Summer Games Done Quick is restricting access to one of tonight's events 'to provide the most comfortable environment' for the speedrunner, because the speedrunner is a dog

I thought it odd when Summer Games Done Quick announced today that access to a Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball speedrun will be restricted in order to ensure the comfort of the speedrunner. Performing under pressure, after all, is a big part of the whole deal, and nothing adds pressure to literally any task like doing it while other people are watching.
