iPhone 16 Pro Max Estimated To Cost Just $32 More Than iPhone 15 Pro Max, But Is Priced At The Same $1,199 For The Base Model, While Featuring Various Upgrades

Apple might not have focused too much attention on introducing a major redesign to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but what it did meticulously was address various concerns that users experienced with the iPhone 15 series from last year and incorporated a multitude of upgrades. In short, we got a flagship that is slightly bigger than its direct predecessor, and surprisingly, according to the latest estimate, the ‘Bill Of Materials’ reveals that Apple’s top-end model costs just $32 more to make. The priciest components inside the iPhone 16 Pro Max are the LTPO OLED panel and rear camera module, both attached with a $80 price

The figures shared by TD Cowen that were spotted by AppleInsider reveal that the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a ‘Bill Of Materials’ total of $485, making it $32 higher than the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s total, which is approximately $453. In the grand breakdown of all the components, the display and rear triple camera array are tied for being the priciest parts to be found in the iPhone 16 Pro Max, at $80.

Apple upgraded from a 12MP ultrawide-angle unit on the iPhone 15 Pro Max to a 48MP one on the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which would explain the slightly higher price jump from $70 to $80.

One major upgrade that the technology giant introduced to the top-end model was including LPDDR5X RAM instead of LPDDR5 running in the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Unfortunately, while the bandwidth and efficiency improvements are guaranteed, it also means that Apple has to pay a sum of $17 per 8GB memory module, making it $5 higher than the
