Final Fantasy XVI New Mod Enhanced Pre-Rendered Cutscenes
A new Final Fantasy XVI mod released a couple of days back further improves the quality of the recently released PC port.
The new mod, developed by tenshinken and available for download from Nexus Mods, replaces the vanilla pre-rendered cutscenes with new ones running at 60 FPS. Following the release of the FFXVIFix mod, it has become possible to increase the framerate of in-engine cutscenes, so the pre-rendered ones still running at 30 FPS possibly felt even worse than before, so the release of this mod is extremely welcome, making the PC port even more the definitive version of the latest entry in the series.

Modders aren't the only ones trying to improve the game, as Square Enix is also working to improve the PC release of Final Fantasy XVI. The game's first update went live last week, improving game stability and performance, adding controller options, and addressing several issues, including some crashing issues.
Final Fantasy XVI is now available on PC and PlayStation 5 worldwide. You can learn more about the game by checking out Kai's glowing review.
Final Fantasy XVI heralds in a new standard for Japanese role-playing games and while the RPG components themselves are limited by Square-Enix standards, it's the narrative and gameplay that exceed all expectations. What begins with kingdom-wide subterfuge and destruction ends with a world forever changed and the player, as Clive Rosfield and Ifrit together, are the driving force to see it all through until the end.
