Developer GSC Game World posted a video and statement on Thursday saying the game’s release, which was previously set for September 5, will now be November 20. It wrote that the developers want to take the time to fix some bugs (or “anomalies,” as it calls them).
Stalker 2's long journey to launch has once again been extended, unfortunately. The last delay pushed it back to September, and while GSC Game World seemed pretty confident that it could hit that at the time, technical issues have necessitated another one, this time to November 20.
As Microsoft and Xbox practice damage control after the Xbox Game Pass price hike, one of the platform's most anticipated exclusive releases has just been hit with another setback. 2024 has been a decidedly rough year for Xbox as the company kicked everything off by announcing that several of its exclusives would be coming to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, followed by the closure of several popular studios. The community is still requesting high-quality exclusive games to compete with the PlayStation 5 so it must sting for Microsoft that one of its most anticipated titles has been delayed again.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been delayed again, this time to November 20. An earlier push-back in January 2024 saw our journey to the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone moved to September, but the developer has announced a two-month further delay to give GNC Game World "breathing room to address technical issues with the game and bring the final release closer to the experience that the fans expect," according to a representative.
