Xbox Cloud Gaming will reportedly let players stream owned games soon

Microsoft is reportedly gearing up to expand its Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offering with the ability to play purchased games via cloud streaming.

Starting in November, members signed up to the Xbox Insider programme will be able to test streaming games that they own that aren’t part of the existing Xbox Game Pass library, according to The Verge.

The feature, which was originally planned to launch in 2022, was reportedly held up due to complications in preparing key infrastructure for streaming thousands of games, instead of the hundreds currently available on Xbox Game Pass.

While many games are expected to be offered in this manner, it’s claimed that publishers will withhold some titles due to licensing requirements or deals.

Earlier today Microsoft announced Xbox Cloud Gaming support for Call of Duty titles Black Ops 6, Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.

All three games will be playable with Xbox Cloud Gaming for Game Pass Ultimate members starting on October 25, which is the Black Ops 6 release date.

Starting next month, Xbox players with Android devices will also be able to buy and play games directly from the official Xbox app.

Microsoft will stream an Xbox Partner Preview event on Thursday, featuring updates on titles from Remedy, Sega, 505 Games and more.
