Nintendo sent a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notice for over 8,000 GitHub repositories hosting code from the Yuzu Switch emulator, which the Zelda maker previously described as enabling “piracy at a colossal scale.” The sweeping takedown comes two months after Yuzu’s creators quickly settled a lawsuit with Nintendo and its notoriously trigger-happy legal team for $2.4 million.

It's been two months since the makers of Nintendo Switch emulator Yuzu settled for $2.4 million, ceasing development and handing the code over to Nintendo. Before Yuzu was taken offline, though, countless emulation fans forked the code to their own Github repositories, creating a duplicate. Others backed the code up to other hosting platforms, which may make them more resilient to Nintendo's takedown requests than Github, which has just complied with a Nintendo takedown request by removing 8,535 repositories of Yuzu code.
11 bit studios kicked off its beta for its post-apocalyptic city-builder, Frostpunk 2, this week for those who have pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of the game. The beta runs through April 22.
THQ Nordic has confirmed its annual digital showcase will take place on August 2, 2024, and has already teased some of the games that will be part of the lineup. Among the confirmed games are Gothic Remake and Titan Quest 2, two games that made an appearance at THQ Nordic's 2023 Digital Showcase but still don't have a set release date. The publisher also promises some surprises at the event.
