You can run Nvidia CUDA applications natively on Radeon GPUs thanks to ZLUDA, the open-source project that AMD once funded

You don't need to be a professional content creator or an expert in data analysis to know that when it comes to GPUs for these roles, one manufacturer dominates the market: Nvidia. That's almost entirely down to CUDA, a programming platform that's been around for years. AMD has its own system called ROCm but it's nowhere near as popular. Well, thanks to the tireless efforts and work of one person, you can now enjoy all the benefits of CUDA applications on a Radeon graphics card, without changing a single line of code.

This monster RTX 4080 Super PC will give you years of seriously slick frame rates for just over $2K

ABS Eurus Ruby | Ryzen 7 7700X | RTX 4080 Super | 32GB DDR5-6000 | 1TB SSD | $2,399$2,099 at Newegg (save $300)Nvidia's new RTX 4080 Super might be a very small upgrade over the plain old 4080. But it's significantly cheaper and that's translating straight into this great desktop deal. For just over the $2K mark, you're getting that Super GPU, plus an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X CPU and 32GB of RAM. Only the 1TB SSD slightly disappoints, but that's an easy fix.

This $870 RTX 4060 gaming laptop deal proves you don't need to spend big to score modern gaming hardware

Lenovo Legion 5 | RTX 4060 | AMD Ryzen 7 7735H | 16GB DDR5 | 512GB SSD | 15-inch | 165Hz | $999.99$869.99 at Walmart (save $130)We've become big fans of Lenovo laptops here at PC Gamer this generation, and this particular budget machine is ticking a lot of boxes. For an RTX 4060 laptop it has to be under $1,000, and you also get a better than average screen, though I'm a little confused over Walmart's listing of it as 2160 x 1350 when Lenovo itself claims a 1440p panel. That 512GB SSD, however, is disappointing, even in a budget laptop, but is a cheap and easy issue to fix if it becomes annoying down the line.

GPU leaker is claiming RDNA 4 engineering samples are boosting between 3 and 3.3GHz. Remember when AMD said that about RNDA 3?

Another week, another new GPU rumour! Travelling through the hallways of the web is a claim that AMD's forthcoming RDNA 4 graphics chips will potentially be running at a clock level much higher than we've seen before from Team Red. Specifically, the claims suggest the higher-end version of the next-gen GPUs can boost up to 3.3GHz, a full 20% more than any RDNA 3 chip on the market.

AMD isn't alone in the Easter egg silicon doodle market, chipmakers have etched hamburgers, zombies, Smurfs, and even Groucho Marx onto their products in the past

Remember the story from last week about the image of a revolver and map of Texas, etched into one of the layers in AMD's old K7 chips? Not surprisingly, it isn't an isolated example of silicon shenanigans, as uncovered by a fan of chip easter eggs shows in an awesome compilation of processors, controllers, and memory die shots. Ducks, zombies, sharks, and dragons rub shoulders with the Playboy logo and a guitar-playing T-rex.
