PCIe 7.0 is on track for a 2025 release, which means SSDs with speeds of up to 60GB/s should be available in the coming years

PCI Express 7.0 is coming! But don't feel as though you need to start saving for a new motherboard anytime soon. The PCI-SIG has just released the 0.5 version, with the final version set for release in 2025. That means supporting devices are not likely to land until 2026, with 2027–28 likely to be the years we see a wider rollout.

As promised, the US gov has whacked another GPU mole headed for China with new limits cooked up to kill the RTX 4090D

The US government has revised its sanctions (via Videocardz) on the level of GPU power it will allow to be exported to China. Razer Blade 14 (2024) review

The Razer Blade 14 (2024) is a highly desirable gaming laptop. It's the sort-of laptop that feels almost like bragging to use openly in a public space. It's practically a status symbol. Intel's chip foundry keeps losing billions of dollars but CEO Gelsinger says this is it, this year is 'the trough'

As part of Intel's internal reshuffling, separating its chip-making facilities into Intel Foundry and everything else as Intel Products, the company filed a Form 8-K with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. In this document, the full picture of how well the foundry service was performing became clear and with operating losses of $7 billion in 2023, more than $2B worse than the previous year, it's clear that Intel has a lot of work to do to turn that around.

Valve Hardware Survey for March—AMD still can't make a dent in Nvidia's massive lead

It's that time of the month again, when Valve publishes statistics for its latest hardware survey. All the key details about the different gaming PCs sampled are there for viewing and while the figures for March don't contain anything hugely significant, the long term trends show that PC gamers upgrading from older GPUs are mostly switching to Nvidia's latest RTX 40-series of graphics cards.
