PCI Express 7.0 is coming! But don't feel as though you need to start saving for a new motherboard anytime soon. The PCI-SIG has just released the 0.5 version, with the final version set for release in 2025. That means supporting devices are not likely to land until 2026, with 2027–28 likely to be the years we see a wider rollout.
AMD continues to offer PC builders more choices for various budgets, as sources discovered that the tech giant lowered the price of its current flagship graphics card, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, to $899. The price cut of the AMD card was discovered on Newegg, but some Radeon RX 7900 XTX quantities remained in back order at the time of writing.
The US government has revised its sanctions (via Videocardz) on the level of GPU power it will allow to be exported to China. And it seems aimed specifically at stopping Nvidia selling its China-exclusive version of the RTX 4090 graphics card. With its «weighted TFLOPS» limit now being dropped down to 70 TFLOPS, that means both Nvidia's RTX 4090D and its H20 data centre GPUs will be unable to be exported to China without a specific license.

All the key details about the different gaming PCs sampled are there for viewing and while the figures for March don't contain anything hugely significant, the long term trends show that PC gamers upgrading from older GPUs are mostly switching to Nvidia's latest RTX 40-series of graphics cards.
Barring an unforeseen late arrival, the Nvidia, AMD and Intel GPU families are complete for this generation. The underlying GPUs are a well known quantity at this point so now it's just a case of seeing what fun things board partners can do to differentiate their cards from the rest of the market.
