It has been a while since a traditional roguelike RPG caught my eye, but no longer: Path of Achra is a dark fantasy game of an ancient earth where gods and sorcerers battle with mighty warriors and heroes. You're an adventurer on the path through Achra seeking the Obelisk beyond, which you do via a series of little mini-roguelike dungeon areas, each small enough to fit on a single screen.
Skyrim total conversion mod Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption Reawakened just got an updated look at its modern-day portion, with a 10-minute video showcasing London in the year 2000, as well as how the team's managed to get firearms working pretty well in the battered warhorse that is Bethesda's seminal 2011 RPG.
Indie creature-collecting roguelike Dicefolk has gotten some positive steam this week following release on February 27. In it you use magical dice to build up your team of mythical creatures—Chimeras—in order to defeat a mysterious evil threat. There's a demo if you want to try it for yourself.
Magic: The Gathering is heading into videogame territory for some of its sets this year, with a Fallout crossover first on deck, and both Final Fantasy and Assassin's Creed on the way. We got a look at some of the Fallout cards already, which show an understanding of the fact the Fallout games are about reading lore on terminals and hoarding junk until you're encumbered. The small number of Assassin's Creed cards shown so far suggest a similar understanding of the assignment.

Our reviewer Lauren Morton called Greedfall «adequate» when she reviewed the RPG from by French studio Spiders, saying its systems «parrot those of successful RPGs, but they're all a bit thin.» The studio has higher hopes for its sequel, which is scheduled for release in the summer of 2024. In a first for Spiders, it'll be coming out in early access.

Previous attempts to pitch an adaptation of Fallout have apparently stalled because current rights-holder Bethesda isn't interested in a movie or TV show that retells a story the games have already told. The showrunners of the upcoming Amazon Prime TV show got around that by pitching something new, they said in an interview with Total Film. «From the first conversation with Todd [Howard] we were most excited about an original story,» said executive producer Jonathan Nolan.
