Sony's Ghost of Tsushima has actual g-g-g-ghosts when it comes to Intel's Arc GPUs

Sony's PS4 classic, Ghost of Tsushima, has finally made its way to the humble PC. In terms of hardware support, porting wizards Nixxes has tried its best to incorporate all the latest GPU features, such as upscaling, frame generation, and ultra-wide monitor support. A Windows XP machine's life expectancy in 2024 seems to be about 10 minutes before even just an idle net connection renders it a trojan-riddled zombie PC

Final Fantasy 14 is helping us poor souls who spend hours creating a character only to absolutely hate it by giving its transformation potion a 60-minute grace period

I feel like at this point, it's a rite of passage to spend hours in a character creator, meticulously tweaking every slider, colour picker, and back-and-forthing between two voice options, their battle cries echoing in your skull for the next several hours… only to get into the actual game and realise you hate everything about them. It's an even more mortifying occurrence when it happens in an MMO, a genre that traditionally wants you to cough up a couple extra bucks for the pleasure of changing your character.

Animal Well's solo dev casually reveals that the breakout metroidvania left 'at least twice as many rooms that are in the game' on the cutting room floor

Goodness, hasn't Animal Well done… well? Launching to almost universal acclaim, the breakout metroidvania looks like it's teed itself up to become the next Hollow Knight. The game was funded by Bigmode, an outfit created by popular YouTuber Dunkey to, quote, «publish some of the very best games out there».

A match made in heaven for gamers on RTX 30-series GPUs: AMD's frame generation and Nvidia's DLSS together at last

Nvidia's DLSS upscaling. AMD's frame generation technology. On the same GPU at the same time. Really? It's cats and dogs living together! Or just the first game to enable that combo, namely Ghost of Tsushima, originally a Playstation 4 title and released just yesterday on PC.

'We knew that was a pain point … why make that mistake again?' World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic devs talk tinkering with the game's first divisive expansion

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic is arriving May 20, and it's an interesting topic because—as PC Gamer's Andy Chalk pointed out back when it was announced—Cataclysm's changes to the world are part of the reason why Classic exists in the first place.
