Blizzard puts Diablo 3 out to pasture as it starts to recycle old seasons

Diablo 4 may still have some fans on the fence but, next to Diablo 3, its launch can only be seen as a rip-roaring success. Diablo 3 arrived mired in controversy over its real-money auction house, always-on requirement, then launched with one of the most infamous bugs in history (Error 37), and an endgame that just didn't scratch that itch.

Elden Ring's friendly dog actually wants to rip you to shreds

A minor theme in FromSoftware's peerless Soulsborne games is the occasional appearance of an enemy that, for whatever reason, doesn't aggro on you. My favourite example of this is a mass of crows in Bloodborne's Hemwick Charnel Lane, all of which bar one will attack, while the remaining crow just sits there all dopey-like. In a world where everything's out to eviscerate you, something not attacking almost makes it seem like a friend.

Seamus Blackley is now more often found posting photographs of the beautiful sourdough loaves he bakes, or his recent Quixotic quest to make chocolate from scratch. But Blackley's long and extremely distinguished career in tech will probably always be defined by his role at Microsoft in the late '90s and early '00s when, alongside others, he spearheaded the internal drive at Microsoft towards videogames, and specifically towards the Xbox.

GTA 5 actor goes nuclear on AI company that made a voice chatbot of him: 'I'm not worried about being replaced... I just hate these f**kers'

Ned Luke, the actor whose roles include GTA 5's Michael De Santa, has gone off on an AI company that released an unlicensed voice chatbot based on the character, and succeeded in having the offending bot nuked from the internet (first spotted by PCGamesN).

Former Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 devs officially reveal their first game, and yeah it sure looks like vampires

In February 2022, a group of CD Projekt veterans headed up by Witcher 3 director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz announced the launch of a new studio called Rebel Wolves and teased its first project with a bit of concept art that Rich Stanton said gave him «strong vampire vibes.» Today, two years later, the studio finally dropped the game's title and some new art, and you know what? It's giving me very strong vampire vibes.

«Kenta Cho?» I take a slow puff on my pipe as I stare into the distance. «Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time…» Way back when I was obsessed with 2D schmups, I'd tell anyone with ears to check out Kenta Cho's amazing games: often small, often built around a single smart idea, and always worth playing. Perhaps his best-known game is rRootage (which is now available as a Remastered version) but, honestly, everything this guy makes is worth the time.

Fake crypto CEO that fronted $1.3 billion rug-pull exposed as jobbing actor who got paid $5,000 with a suit thrown in

Earlier this year PCG reported on a crypto rug-pull with a new twist: The CEO of the firm involved didn't appear to exist. The news came in the wake of a Guardian Australia investigation into Hyperverse, a crypto scheme that collapsed with an estimated $1.3 billion in losses, and during its time was fronted by a chief executive by the name of Steven Reece Lewis. Reece Lewis had one hell of a C.V., but when the wheels came off he appeared to have vanished into thin air. Now the man behind the crypto baron has been found and, in another twist truly emblematic of crypto, it's an actor who was paid a relative pittance.
