The pawn system in Dragon's Dogma 2 is neat—and pawn quests are neater still. In case you're uninitiated, when you create your «main pawn» in the game, that pawn will be hired by other players running about in their own game worlds. In other words, you're hiring other players' main pawns, and you're leasing yours out all the time.

Final Fantasy 14's upcoming expansion, Dawntrail, has had its release date announced at PAX East. It'll be arriving to tank login servers July 2, though there'll be an early access period June 28 for players who pre-ordered the expansion beforehand.

As much as my inner PC gamer curmudgeon might bicker with that mandate, it's 2024—most players are gonna have a gamepad lying around somewhere, unless you're the kind of wunderkind to tackle Elden Ring with a mouse and keyboard. In which case, I fear your power.
