If you’ve played Astro Bot already, then you know that its best levels are it’s “hero” stages. After beating the boss in each of its five worlds, players must complete a special end challenge that puts Astro in the center of a different PlayStation game. One level turns him into Kratos and has him tossing a tiny Leviathan Axe at enemies. Another sends him on an Uncharted adventure complete with shootouts and chase sequences.

I don’t know about you, but Astro Bot has gotten me in the mood to play more platformers. I’d forgotten how joyful a colorful adventure like that can be if it’s expertly crafted. There are plenty of games you can play if you want to scratch that itch, like this year’s Penny’s Big Breakaway or a selection of oldies on Xbox Game Pass, but there’s a brand new 2D platformer out this week that should be next on your list if you have Astro Bot fever.
The PS5 Pro is the wrong price at the wrong time
The PlayStation 5 had barely touched down on shelves in 2020 when players began begging for a Pro model. That was a testament to the success of the PS4 Pro in 2016, which successfully made the case for a mid-generation console upgrade. It increased the console’s power significantly, giving players a reason to upgrade ahead of major titles like Horizon Zero Dawn. It makes perfect sense that Sony would want to repeat that trick with the PS5.
