Mark Your Calendars: One Of The Best Resident Evil Games Is Coming To A New Platform This Week

Capcom and GOG have teamed up to bring to PC in September. Earlier this year, the previous two games in the beloved franchise were brought to the platform, and now the third title will follow suit, bringing the 1999 classic to a wider audience on PC with quality-of-life improvements.

will arrive on GOG on September 25 (as spotted by). The PC port will be DRM-free and compatible with controllers and Windows 10 and 11 running modern graphics engines. It will also feature several gameplay improvements, including better subtitles, task-switching, more rendering options, and general visual upgrades.

is both a prequel and a sequel to The game takes place in two parts, taking place before and after the events of the second game, and puts players in the shoes of former S.T.A.R.S. agent Jill Valentine as she tries to escape from a zombie-infested Raccoon City.

This is not the first time that has come to PC, as the title was originally released as a PlayStation exclusive in 1999, it was later ported to the Dreamcast, GameCube, and 2000s-era Windows. A 2020 remake brought the game to modern audiences on all platforms, including PC, and the latest addition will bring the classic game to a wider audience once again in all its original glory.

Although it looked visually stunning, the remake was not well received by fans. The remake was criticized for cutting content, including the removal of entire areas from the original game. The gameplay itself was updated to feature less exploration and puzzle-solving and more action and scripted moments. The remake was not a true port and was missing a few key elements, but until now it was the only way for fans to experience the game on PC.
