Gigantamax Pokémon Confirmed For Pokémon GO, Arriving This October

The Pokémon Company and Niantic have partnered up to bring the revelation of Gigantamax Pokémon smashing into in just a few short weeks. During this limited-time event, players will be able to take on Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise in their most sizable form.

In a recent post from The Pokémon Company's official press site, fans learned that these massive Gigantamax Pokémon will be making their debut on October 26, bringing new mechanics to the Dynamax feature that was introduced earlier this year. These new encounters will not be for the faint of heart, as Gigantamax Pokémon will be much more challenging than the other Dynamax Pokémon, who can change their size and appearance mid-fight.

In a new trailer released by the developers, fans get a taste of what to expect from this limited-time event. It is said that these new additions will be the biggest challenges to date for players to overcome within , and players will group up with up to 39 other users to take down these monstrosities.

The tier three Max Battle Dynamax Falinks can be overpowered and caught in Pokemon GO by using the super-effective Metagross and Charizard.

For participating in these new events, players will also have the opportunity to catch some of these Gigantamax Pokémon as their own, adding even more rewards to the table. Trainers that are level 13 or higher will also gain access to the «To The Max» Special Research, which will lead players to encounter Dynamax Pokémon to use to bring down even larger threats that loom.

These chance encounters will need to be sought out by trainers, and according to the developers, Power Spots may not appear in the same place twice. This means fans will need to traverse the real world in hopes of finding and defeating — and hopefully capturing — Gigantamax Pokémon. Capturing these Gigantamax Pokémon will also allow players to take down even more powerful Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon, leading to a Pokédex filled to the brim with powerful Pokémon.
