FF14 Dawntrail: How To Unlock The Viper Job

Viper is the newest melee job released with . It is a quick attacker that hits many times in a short amount of time. It is ideal if you want to use many different moves in succession.

Keep in mind that Viper begins at level 80, putting it right at the tail end of the storyline content. If you want to gear up quickly, you’ll want to focus on the best equipment from 's previous expansion. But, also consider taking things slow and playing the job at your own pace.

Battles on the field like Fates, quests, and treasure hunts can sometimes be deadly to solo. Take along your trusty Chocobo to ensure success.

While Viper is a part of the expansion, you do not need to actually progress to the new area of Tural or begin the campaign’s story. Instead, foreign representatives for the job have arrived in Eorzea. But there are still a few things that are needed to get the job:

While it is not a full requirement, it is advised that you have completed all the expansion content before pursuing Viper. Doing so will grant access to Zadnor, one of the best leveling zones for any job above 70. Otherwise, you will be severely over-leveled for most upcoming challenges.

Once the above is accounted for, head to Ul’dah Steps of Nald and speak to Worried Weaver at coordinates (X: 9.2, Y: 9.1). This will start the side quest Enter the Viper and introduce the important NPC trainer, Keshkwa. He will do all the initial fighting, allowing you to access the job after a few non-combat cutscenes. However, to progress further with Keshkwa’s story and learn additional abilities, you must switch to Viper by equipping yourself with the first quest's rewards.

Upon completing Enter the Viper, Keshkwa will gift you a Weathered Twinfang and a full set of Weathered Snakebite Attire.
