Baldur’s Gate 3 Gets A Gigantic 4X Texture Pack

Baldur's Gate 3 has received a pretty exciting texture mod. This mod utilizes AI tools to upscale low-resolution textures and provides an enhanced visual experience.

Texture mods in titles are a mainstay for PC gamers, especially in games like BG3, which has some inconsistencies in the overall texture environment. Apparently, the modder WestAard has released an HD Texture Pack for Baldur’s Gate 3, which is around 27 GB in size, a massive number for a texture pack, but the interesting fact here is that this particular mod upscale the in-game textures by up to four times, using a node-based upscaling program called chaiNNer.

After a week of processing using a node-based upscaling program called chaiNNer, the mod is finally ready for release! It upscales textures 4x, so a 1K texture becomes 4K, and so on. For those who want high resolution textures that adhere to the vanilla vision, or a cover-all pack to serve as a foundation for custom-made textures, this will work wonders.

The modder further mentions that the texture pack doesn't include upscaling for armor and clothes, but every other mainstream graphic is upscaled through this particular pack. For BG3 users who are eager to go through a unique gaming experience, having this texture pack onboard is a must for them. According to the modder, if users desire the ultimate experience, they should also have the following set of texture packs equipped:

• Vivid Landscapes - HD Ground and Terrain Textures
• Vivid Landscapes - Roads
• Vivid Landscapes - Water
