ASUS Achieves 7.55 GHz OC World Record On AMD Ryzen 9 9950X CPU With ROG Crosshair X870E HERO Motherboard

AMD's Ryzen 9 9950X CPU has been overclocked to a record-breaking 7.55 GHz by ASUS using the ROG Crosshair X870E HERO motherboard.

ASUS Shatters Several World Records With AMD Ryzen 9 9950X Overclocked To 7.55 GHz On A ROG Crosshair X870E HERO Motherboard

To demonstrate the overclocking capabilities of its latest X870E motherboards, ASUS used its ROG Crosshair X870E HERO to overclock the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X to its limits, setting a new benchmark for the overclocking world.

ASUS's in-house overclockers, SAFEDISK & ELMOR got together to set up the ASUS ROG HERO motherboard which featured an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, cooled by LN2 and hitting temps as low as -188C. For overclocking purposes, SMT was disabled but all 16 cores on the 9950X were enabled, tuned to an x75 multiplier with a voltage of 1.025V and hitting a phenomenal speed of 7.55 GHz (7548.68 MHz to be precise). You can check out the validation here.

Knowing that they had reached such a high speed, the overclockers decided to run some benches and score 16-core world records. As a result, ASUS achieved five world record places within the 7-Zip, Geekbench 3 Multi-core, Cinebench R20, Cinebench R23, and HWBOT x265 4K benchmarks. Following are the respective scores within each benchmark run:

  • ASUS 9950X (6.8 GHz) / ROG Crosshair X870E HERO - 321,970 MIPS (1st 16x CPU Rank)
  • ASUS 9950X (6.92 GHz) / ROG Crosshair X870E HERO - 60,798 CBR23 (1st 16x CPU Rank)
  • ASUS 9950X (6.92 GHz) / ROG Crosshair X870E HERO - 23,550 CBR20 (1st 16x CPU Rank)
  • ASUS 9950X (6.8 GHz) / ROG Crosshair X870E HERO - 170,646 GB3 (1st 16x CPU Rank)
  • ASUS 9950X (6.7 GHz) / ROG Crosshair X870E HERO - 77.57FPS X265 (1st 16x CPU Rank)

ASUS also uploaded a video on YouTube in which they showcase the whole setup process for the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X CPU overclocking spree on the ROG Crosshair X870E motherboard which can be seen below:
