Almost Everyone Hates This Zelda: TOTK Feature In Echoes Of Wisdom (& They're Right)

is the first game in the Zelda franchise to put players in the shoes of the Princess of Hyrule — and since its release it's been incredibly well-loved by players. Utilizing the art style of the remake for the Nintendo Switch, follows Zelda as she works to single-handedly free Link, the King, and other Hyrulians from the mysterious rifts appearing all over the land, using her magic as her key tool.

Though the game has been well-received by fans new and old of the franchise, there's one specific issue players have taken with it. As Zelda progresses through her journey, she'll unlock various Echoes to problem-solve the various obstacles and take down enemies in her path — but players were quick to note thatthe UI for this feature repeated a mistake made in .

There are more than 120 different Echoes for Zelda to unlock as she progresses through her journey to save Hyrule, some of which receive more powerful versions later in the game. To access these Echoes, the player has to press the right d-pad button,bringing up a horizontal list of all of the ones Zelda has currently learned. With the sheer number available in the game, this often results in some serious scroll time to find the one a player needs.

Though this horizontal list wasn't particularly cumbersome for certain features, like switching a sword or shield in, players complained when the same user interface tool was used for items. In the sequel, players could fuse an item to their arrow by pressing the up button on the d-pad while aiming with the bow. As there were hundreds of unique items to collect, though,players often found themselves scrolling through a long, horizontal list to locate the exact one they wanted.

There are six automatons in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and you'll need to go on an Echo hunt to unlock them all with Dampe's help.
